Not just an another event!
In past polar plunge was more of a ritual then a fun event as it is now. The event takes place on four occasions in the year: spring, summer, the last sunset and midwinter.

In short its a night where people jump in to the ice cold water without clothes in the middle of antarctic winter, the air temperature is usually about -32ºC.
