On your way back from Cape Reinga make a stop on the Te Paki sand dunes  along the white sand 90 Miles Beach and you will be amazed by the unexpected desert landscape  in New Zealand, this illusion will astonish you.  To climb up the dunes is pretty tuff but very funny and enjoyable process, so make your way up to the top and then be brave to slide down.
